A10 PRO SYSTEMS ANALYSIS HELP
═════════════════════════════
In many ways this is the motor behind the bulk of the
program. 2180 statistical tests are present for your
examination.
Some of the more obscure or apparently strange plays
are clearer when demonstrated this way.
Choose from the following strategy tests:-
1. Hit vs Sit 4. Double vs Hit
2. Split vs Hit 5. Double vs Sit
3. Split vs Sit 6. Dealer's Odds
Again, the ubiquitous strategy chart is the key.
Locations for strategy are still the same: -
Top Right - "normal" hands.
Lower Left - Split Hands.
Lower Right - Soft Hands.
The Lower Right window also displays the Dealer's
opportunities for success.
1. LOGICAL TESTS:
For each of the first five tests, a "Rules" screen is
displayed first. Select a strategy with the [Tab] Key,
press [Esc] to confirm and go on.
The Strategy page remains active - use [arrow] keys to
move the cursor and select a test from the position of
the black highlight. Then press:-
[H] - Hit, [S] - Sit, or [D] - Double, [Alt + S] -
(hold down the [Alt Key] and strike [S]) - Split.
Tests which involve illegal or illogical choices (such
as Double vs Hit on a 13 vs 3 - Rules 1) are rejected.
Some tests are included for interest's sake only, and
are not appropiate to any serious strategy.
Split vs Hit and Split vs Sit Charts that apply to the
same hands in each test are only given to compare each
alternative. Recommended play is displayed in strategy
charts throughout the program. Each play is the choice
that returns the highest wins/draws in analysis tests.
Each test is performed over 10,000 hands for each play
alternative. Wins, Standoffs and Loss totals are given
for each choice and a recommended strategy displayed.
This recommendation is made by counting 10000 hands as
10,000 times a bet has been spent. The RETURN is then
twice the bet on a win, a single bet on draws, zero on
a loss. Doubles cost an extra bet to play so RETURNS
are 3 times your bet on a win... and one on a loss.
Splits return two bets on the right hand and one on
the left. (calculated in the same way) You can assess
the difference between two losing plays and figure
which one will lose more, compare a winning and losing
play, or two winning plays.
Each test will take 3 to 12 minutes on a 16MHz machine
and up to 50 minutes on an 8MHz computer! Today's more
sophisticated machines are even quicker - a 486 takes
as little as 20 seconds !!!
After each test you are given the Test Result Charts.
Select rules with the [Tab] key, [Arrow] keys select a
Test group, and results are shown on the screen.
A red result means the left hand play of the test is
avoided and a green result means the left hand play is
favoured.
Results are shown as a percentage gain by the first
play when compared to the right hand play in the test.
Thus a 26 per cent positive means you have 26 per cent
higher returns by exercising the left hand choice.
On a monochrome screen positive results appear darker.
Results for different rules with the same logic tests
will vary within a statistical spread; ie: in the case
of Dealer Blackjacks, varying results are achieved due
to refunds of original bets in QLD, or in split cases-
according to the rules in each state; each answer is
averaged out with previously gained results. This way
tests can be run for several passes of 10,000 rather
than one run of anything up to millions.
2. DEALER'S CHANCES:
These tests involve the Dealer drawing cards to a card
chosen by you for 1,000 hands. Each test shows the
number of times - expressed as a percentage - that
the dealer will achieve 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, Blackjack,
or Bust...
Results are screened in the lower right panel. Columns
show the dealer's first card, rows show the percentage
that each hand total is achieved. Answers may surprise
you. When the dealer has a 6, (and players feel safe),
the Dealer will make 17+... 59 PER CENT of his hands !
This is living proof that YOU MUST HIT UNTIL YOU HAVE
17 OR MORE ! (In most cases). As a side benefit these
figures can be applied to see what percentage of the
time you may expect success. In each case the chances
are high - this may offer some comfort.
Test results are displayed in the same way as strategy
tests. Select the Dealer's Chance option on the Data
Screen. Rules options are irrelevant. ( No matter what
the rules, the Dealer draws until he has 17 or more ).
3. LOGIC TEST RESULTS:
Bypass tests, select [3] at the Systems Analysis menu,
and view test results.
4. GRAPHIC ANALYSIS:
In this option you may create any combination of
rules, player profiles, betting patterns (for 1 to 7
players) or custom design strategies and betting
patterns according to your ideas or interpretation of
results achieved in Systems Analysis tests. ( Refer to
Player Profiling Help ).
Instead of watching each player's cards as played, all
screen format program code is removed, allowing each
player's bank fluctuations to be speedily graphed to
the screen in CGA or EGA/VGA mode for 40 to 320 hands.
This is a powerful analysis tool that displays data on
the Player Data page. Pressing [F7] causes the graph
to repeat with a new shuffle. Clever use of Player
Profiles can quantify ANY strategy !
This may be especially useful for testing bet patterns
and comparing styles by profiling similar strategies
and different bet patterns simultaneously. There are
countless other variations.
You now have a sophisticated analysis tool, capable of
the most advanced tests !
